Giving a smile and saving the planet is the objective of “Recycling Smiles”, a project created by Enkador to encourage the recycling of plastic bottles in the community. This year, the festival returns together with Origin for more and more recycling in our country.
“Recycling Smiles” is a space for community support, learning and fun. At this fair, PET bottles acquire a value to obtain products made by Ecuadorian entrepreneurs through the PET dollar, which is claimed with bottles that attendees deliver upon arrival at the event.
In the first edition, which was held in December 2021, it was possible to bring together around 30 food, clothing, health and crafts ventures, which made the most of this space to share their proposals and offer their products. For this reason, the second edition expects the same and much more: to promote this space so that recycling is seen as an important tool to create employment and preserve our environment.
How to attend the second edition?
This year, the “Recycling Smiles” festival will continue with the same form of entry to collect as many recycled bottles as possible and be able to turn them into new ones at our plant. Attendees can exchange their ticket with 1 kg of PET bottles (approximately 30 bottles). If you’re not sure how to identify these bottles, watch this video:
People with disabilities and the elderly can exchange their ticket for ½ kg of bottles (approximately 15) and children under 12 years old have free admission.
We recommend you to bring more than 1 kg of bottles to exchange for PET dollars so that you can support and enjoy more than 100 products offered by the businesses and brands that will be present in this edition.
When will it be done?
The second edition of this fair will be held on Sunday, November 13 at the Sangolquí Sports Center (Juan de Salinas Ave.) from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Don Medardo and his Players will be the main attraction in the second edition of “Recycling Smiles”, in addition, Origin and Enkador learning spaces will be installed to teach you how to recycle better at home and the importance of this task for our society and the planet. Finally, you will have the opportunity to participate for a 50-inch TV and many more prizes by exchanging your bottles for PET dollars.
We will continue working for the community and the environment through recycling. With this fair, we will give a new life to thousands of plastic bottles that otherwise could end up contaminating our nature. Let’s save the planet together!
