Enkador is an Ecuadorian company with almost 50 years in the textile market, through the production of polyester filaments and other spinning products. Starting in 2012, Enkador entered the plastic resin production market with post-consumer PET recycling, under the Recypet® brand.
The company’s incursion into this segment was generated due to the environmental protection awareness of its managers. That awareness has been evolving and adjusting to the demands of consumers who expect socially and environmentally responsible products: that’s why Origin has arrived.
Our initial focus was to produce plastic resins to create new products such as synthetic polyester filament, fabrics, and apparel. Currently, the recycling plant operates with the most advanced and sophisticated equipment in the world, such as Sorema-Previero (Italy) in the production of washed flakes and Erema (Australia) in pelletizing, which allows us to offer recycled food grade packaging, guarantee of purity and high performance.
More than 5,600 people participate in the collection and storage of approximately 1.5 million bottles a day from cities, rivers, parks and beaches in the country, avoiding visual and environmental contamination. We produce washed and unwashed flake, rPET resin with FDA technology, rPET preforms and bottles, as well as by-products obtained from caps and labels.
